Visual Arts
The NaAC has a vibrant visual arts program, providing our artists with artistic training, creation, and exhibition/sales opportunities to advance their creativity.
Dance
The NaAC’s performing arts division is a new addition to our mandate as a result of our acquisition of celebrated mixed ability dance company Momo Movement.
Music
In 2021, NaAC introduced pioneering programs that empower musicians with developmental disabilities to explore music as a creative endeavor, pushing the boundaries of audio innovation and fostering inclusive musical expression.
Indigenous Programs
This program began as a response to conversations and questions about Indigenous culture within the larger NaAC studio and has grown into opportunities for learning, discussion and artmaking that in turn respect each participant’s lived knowledge and experiences.
Film
Since 2022, the NaAC’s rapidly expanding Film & Media department encourages artists to express themselves through moving image mediums – from Super 8mm analog film to digital video and everything in between.
Professional Track Programs
In 2022, the NaAC launched its suite of Professional Track programs, streamlining its advanced level programs with a renewed focus on connecting the NaAC artist community to professional grade learning and creation opportunities with the potential for industry standard compensation, commissioning, and presenting opportunities. In 2023, the NaAC become only the fifth Alberta-based arts organization to receive ongoing support from the Government of Canada through the Canada Arts Training Fund (CATF) – the first multidisciplinary disability arts company in Canada to do so.
