As the NaAC opens up its summer session, we’d like to welcome everyone back for in-person programming. If you haven’t already done so, please contact our Coordinator, Artist Services, Kylie Poppe to ensure you are scheduled to return in person. If you wish to remain online, please contact Kylie for the most up-to-date online schedule.

Please note that as we bring our programming back to in-person, we will be decreasing the number of online sessions we are able to offer and will be limiting access to online programming to those artists who have not returned to in-person. If you are unsure about whether or not you may attend online, please continue reading or contact Kylie.

Please contact Kylie at 403-253-3174 ext. 0 or by email at kylie.poppe@accessarts.ca if you have any questions. We encourage you to sign up for our newsletters and follow us on social media as well for more about what’s happening at our centre.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS – Updated July 6, 2022
Is the NaAC is going to re-open all of its in-person sessions?

Yes! We are now able to welcome all of our artists in person. If you haven’t already done so, please reach out to Kylie at 403-253-3174 ext. 0 to ensure you are scheduled into one of our studio sessions.

What if I don’t want to come to in-person sessions?

We are encouraging all artists to return to in-person sessions to ensure they are able to benefit from our studio facilitation and supplies. Ultimately, it is up to you and if you wish to remain online we will be continuing with a portion of our online Zoom sessions.  Please contact Kylie at 403-253-3174 ext. 0 if they are having difficulties connecting; have no device; have questions about how they can stay creatively active; have ideas on how the NaAC can help you to keep on creating. We’re here to help and we simply want you to keep practicing your art!

Can I attend in-person and online?

Online sessions will only be available to artists who are registered in a spot which they are not attending in person. For example, if you only have one spot and are attending in-person, the online session will not be available. If you only have one spot and do not wish to attend in person, then you will be able to attend online.

If you have two spots and only attend one of them in person, you may attend the second spot online.

What safety protocols do you still have in place?

All visitors are still required to wear non-woven masks (KN95, KF94, surgical/procedural masks) and although we have removed the shields from our studio tables, we will be maintaining as much distancing as possible. We will no longer conduct health checks upon entrance but we will be sending home any visitors or artists who appear to have symptoms of anything resembling COVID, the flu, or even just a common cold.

I am not vaccinated at all or I haven’t had my booster shot yet, can I still come in person?

Yes. The NaAC will no longer require visitors to show proof of vaccinations. We reserve the right to re-implement our proof of vaccination requirement at any time, at our discretion.

Will I still be billed if I only attend online?

Yes. All registered artists will continue to be billed for all spots they are registered to. In-person session spots are billed for the day/time you attend in-person and Zoom sessions are unlimited and only billed as one spot.

If you do not wish to attend in-person or online but have not let us know you will continue to be billed. If neither option works for you, please ensure you send us a written request to cancel your registration. All cancellations require 30 days’ notice.

Will artists/families/guardians/supportive roommates/agencies be notified if a member the NaAC community tests positive for COVID 19 or is asked to self-isolate?

If we are informed of a positive case of COVID at our facility, we will notify the homes of artists who were physically on site and in the vicinity of those individuals. All persons are responsible for researching and following official government health regulations. We will not share the names or any personal details of any individual.

Can I bring my lunch to the NaAC?

The NaAC will not be re-opening its lounge or allowing the use of our refrigerator or microwave. However, we welcome small, clean, dry ready-to-eat snacks which may be eaten in the studio during each session.
