In conversation: Adeel Sadiq & Roy Caussy description.
Please join us online as we celebrate the publication “Idea Book” by Adeel Sadiq with a reading of selected pages by the artist.
This project stems from conversations about Adeel’s “The words are something you feel” (2020) commissioned as a message from the artist to the public at the beginning of the pandemic. It has continued in the form of a publication honouring the teachings that have shaped Adeel’s practice and style.
Adeel will be joined by artist Roy Caussy, who mentored Adeel in his journey creating his first publication.
This project was generously supported by Stride Gallery alongside funding by Calgary Arts Development, Alberta Foundation for the Arts, and Canada Council for the Arts.
Session attendance is limited to 10 spots per workshop.
Adeel Sadiq Biography
The power with my cards and those lines has a big meaning. My dad gives me those lines and what it means; I learn and I’m into it. Reading those lines I feel good; it’s a compliment in a big way. My dad is wise.
I put everything in my art. I make this in love; every detail I put in a canvas, every sketch, and when I plan the colours. I want to grow and learn in my art. I want to make lots. I bring books and ideas to Indefinite Arts. I take my time and effort to make it beautiful. Making my art big; I’m making my name. I make from the heart and I make everything with love.
The words are something you feel.
