Q.A.A.C. Summer Art Club
Watch. See. Hear. Make. Share.
Want to learn more about storytelling in live performance? Tired of making art alone? This summer club is all about building a supportive place for artists from the disability community.
Glitz and glamour come to mind when we think of cabaret but the most important thing to any cabaret or live performance is storytelling. We will explore how these forms support each other and work together to best tell a story, your story.
Summer Club members will work with some of the city’s most talented artists who are sharing their stories from the disability, MAD, Deaf, and Queer communities. Theses Artist Co-conspirators will show examples of story-telling through film, theatre, drag, burlesque, comedy, spoken word, graphic design, and photography,
Fee: $5 per artist per session OR $35 Summer Club Pass for all sessions.
If fees are a barrier to participating in QAAC Summer Art Club, you can apply for a scholarship by contacting DeVery Bess at firstname.lastname@example.org.
QAAC Summer Art Club members are also invited to join QAAC Community Art Days, where participants will get to enjoy and explore live performances from all over the world.
The first QAAC Community Art Day is Saturday, July 17 – DisibiliTease Burlesque Festival
