Today, TD Bank Group announced a landmark $1.5 million investment in the National accessArts Centre (NaAC). This investment marks the largest of its kind that TD has made in Western Canada.
Since 2021, TD has been the largest corporate sponsor of the NaAC’s programs. With government funding approximately one third of our costs, TD’s investment has strengthened the foundation to build Canada’s largest disability arts organization, headquartered in Calgary with a growing presence in Toronto and across the country.
With this renewed sponsorship over the next three years, the NaAC will continue to develop and grow its Professional Track™ programs that connect participants to paid opportunities in the arts, and strengthen its multidisciplinary arts training and creation programs – connecting more than 400 Canadian artists with opportunities to learn and create in the visual arts, music, dance, theatre, literary arts, digital media, film, and beyond.
“We are deeply grateful to TD for this extraordinary $1.5 million commitment. This transformative gift will continue to bolster our efforts in delivering world class programs that change the trajectory of what it means to be an artist with a disability today.” – Jung-Suk Ryu, President and CEO, National accessArts Centre
“We’re so proud to renew and expand our support for the NaAC with this milestone donation, enabling more artists with disabilities from across Canada to develop and share their talents. Through the TD Ready Commitment, our corporate citizenship platform, we’re supporting organizations focused on increasing arts and culture initiatives that reflect and amplify new, underrepresented, and diverse voices.” – Robert Ghazal, Senior Vice President and Alberta Region Head, TD Bank Group
With today’s announcement, TD’s investments in the NaAC will exceed $2.2 million – the largest to be recorded in the disability arts sector in Canadian history.
