Storytelling through Opera: Act Two
Peek behind the velvet curtain and learn to tell your stories through Opera, and apply your art practice to the wonderful world of Opera!
In partnership with Calgary Opera, Act One is a free, 8 week workshop series to introduce NaAC artists to the foundations of opera. Participating artists will have the chance to gain first-hand experience with various elements of opera through guided activities, projects, and group discussions.
Time to get to work! In Act One of Storytelling through Opera, NaAC Artists were introduced to the core elements of opera. Now, On to Act Two! This time NaAC artists are moving into the preproduction phase, refining their stories, gathering direction and ideas, and designing elements of their operas. Artists will start the preproduction process by applying what they learned in Act One, focusing on the stories they want to tell, developing characters, costuming, set & stage design, and everything in between.
*If you are an artist who did not participate in Act One, please inquire about ways to join Act Two!
Anyone interested in the performing arts and dramatic expression is encouraged to register!
