Wednesdays

In this class facilitated by Katie Wackett, participants will embark on a guided tour of film history, watching movies and learning how to talk about them. This class is ideal for artists who enjoy watching and sharing their opinions. Each participant will have the chance to curate a film screening and introduce the film to the class. This class is ideal for artists who love movies and want to broaden their horizons learning about films from the past.  

In this workshop, you will: 

• Learn about film history by watching movies!  

• Learn to talk about movies, how to form your opinion and connect with other participants  

• Learn about film programming, how curators choose films  

• Go on field trips to learn about cinemas and film production locations 

• Create your own film presentation – choose the film and share with the class about why you chose it.  

This class is open for anyone over 18 years old, whether they identify as a member of a disability community or not, however the class prioritizes accessibility. Instructions are given in plain language, and the location of the class is wheelchair accessible.
