September 27th 6pm – 9pm and September 29th 3pm – 5pm
Please join us for “Fall Harvest”, an open studio and sale in celebration of NaAC artist Riley McNeil’s summer residency with Calgary Allied Arts Foundation!
“Fall Harvest” is a two-day open studio and artwork sale event to celebrate Riley’s incredible artistic practice and view the dozens of paintings and sculptures he has created during his CAAF residency, all of which will be available to purchase.
During his two-month residency, Riley has pushed his artistic practice to explore art and materials in new ways and has created a series of paintings and sculptures inspired by nature. Using natural materials found during walks in Fish Creek Park, Riley’s new series of artworks explores landscapes, animals, and plants using paint, clay, berry juice, tree branches, leaves, feathers, and other natural materials.
We hope you will join us to celebrate Riley and his CAAF residency at “Fall Harvest”! There will be snacks and drinks available and many wonderful artworks for you to view and bring home to add to your art collection.
Riley McNeil was born and raised in Calgary. He works primarily in ceramics, pulling imagery from nature into functional objects. Riley loves animals and enjoys taking nature walks in his community to observe the wildlife there. He has shown his artworks at “The Western Oasis” in the Calgary Stampede, through the Green Line Public Garden Program with The City of Calgary, at the ATB Cultural Centre Branch on Stephen Ave, and at Contemporary Calgary through the National accessArts Centre’s Ways of Knowing program.
