This workshop is part of the Won Lee Community Arts Hub’s 2025 Summer Programs — a pilot series for Deaf and disabled, 2SLGBTQ+, and BIPOC artists.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:
This six-part workshop series is designed for BIPOC writers who wish to explore their roots, decolonize their writing, and express themselves beyond the limits of standard English by using their mother tongues in conjunction with English to create poetry and/or fiction.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR:
Hanan Hazime (she/her) is a multidisciplinary artist, creative writer, community arts educator, and creative writing instructor who identifies as a Mad/neurodivergent Lebanese-Canadian Shi’a Muslimah feminist and activist. A co-editor of Muslim American Writers at Home and the upcoming anthology Up;Rising, she holds an MA in English Literature and Creative Writing from the University of Windsor.
