Alondra Hunt: Artist Statement

Could you imagine Mario coming to visit Calgary?! I love Mario games, and I have played them since I was young. In Mario Odyssey, there is a world that looks just like a big city; kind of like Calgary. This painting is what I imagine Calgary would look like in a Mario world. In this world, Mario is flying into our special city, and the two worlds are blending. I also included a new Rainbow Road track for all you Mario Kart fans out there.

“I know it’s just a game, but I feel like I’m part of that world while I’m playing”
