Roby King: Artist Statement

I think Top Gun is very awesome. The first movie is so cool – like, super awesome. The scene with the sunrise, the opening scene, well, that’s like nothing I’ve ever seen before. The colours are just amazing; wow! In this painting, Tom Cruise is standing next to Kelly, and the jets, they’re flying all over the place. How do they even land jets on the boats? That’s crazy.

When I make art about Top Gun it makes me think about all the amazing details in the movie; every single one.
